I have been so busy that I have not updated my weight loss journey. I have a stationary bike now! It’s a cute little thing that gets the job done. I have also been trying to go to the gym more often with my husband, and we are returning to healthy eating. It didn’t work out very well last week as far as food goes because we picked a recipe that requires a food processor that we don’t have, so I made beef burgers, which I haven’t had in a long time. They turned out fine, but my stomach totally rejected the burger, so I’ve been eating subs and sandwiches for the week. This weekend I’m making low-FODMAP butter chicken to get back on track, and I’m extremely excited!
Mentally I’m doing well. I had to skip a month of therapy due to scheduling, but I had my first therapy after all this time yesterday, and it was exactly what I needed. It was validating, challenging, thoughtful, and just an enjoyable conversation. I also got to vent about things I’ve been holding onto because I felt mad about them. My shoulders feel lighter, and I think I’ve gained some perspective.
I’m halfway through my degree! I’m so happy, but I’m also tired, haha. I can’t wait to graduate and take a break before I hit the books again. I want to change my degree to criminal justice, but it will be a bit before I do; I look forward to that pathway when the time comes. I’m planning to be a paralegal in a criminal law firm in the future. It’ll be a tough job, but I know I’ll enjoy it and do great.
I started my current job, and I enjoy it very much. I love the things I get to read and learn about, and I love the work I do. The culture of the work environment is what I needed, and the flexibility gives me time to fit these appointments that I’ve been having to finish catching up on my health and still have time for therapy and school. I hope to move up in the job at some point and be able to put on my resume that I’ve done something good during the time I am here.
What has the beginning of the year been like for you? Let me know down below; I’d love to hear!
