I have done so much this year alone and with my husband. I have a lot in mind for the upcoming year that I hope turns out great!
- Keep a Job: I have been out of a job for a year due to health issues, focusing on school, and honestly, because I haven’t found one. I want a job that leads me down the career path I’m looking for and keep it. I don’t want any more issues keeping me from my goals.
- Keep Losing Weight: I have already lost 10 lbs. in 6 months and am determined to lose more. A big part of the weight I’m trying to lose came from depression and foot and knee problems that kept me unable to do what I needed. Now I’m starting to do better, and it’s time to get the rest of this weight off and make the rest of my life easier and longer.
- TikTok(?): I have contemplated making a TikTok strictly to talk about mental health, communication, weight loss, and food journey, and how all these things have collectively helped me feel better. I think TikTok will be a place where I can be heard and have conversations about important things. I think it will also help some people along the way.
- Cook More International Food: I want to try new foods that are gentle on my stomach and still full of flavor. I loved having low FODMAP butter chicken regularly, and I am making Thai chicken curry tomorrow. I also make chicken stir fry regularly and Swedish meatballs every once in a while. I don’t think there’s been food from another part of the world that I haven’t liked lately!
- Have a New Wardrobe: There’s this quote I really like about how you shouldn’t dress for the job that you have but the career that you want. I think this is true! People treat you as they perceive you, so if you dress sporty, they assume you to be athletic. I want to be a paralegal, so if I dress as such, I could be looked at as one or just a professional in general. I think it is also a psychological thing that would bring some confidence.
I think that’s all I have for now, but I look forward to 2023 and what it may bring. 2021 was a big struggle, and this year was a path to something great that I need to get on my feet to prepare for. Now I’m running toward it with my wonderful husband and amazing support circle!
