There may be multiple posts of similar stature in the future because I’m learning things every session that may be helpful for others out there.

  1. Your feelings matter.
  2. Other people’s feelings when you express your own to them are not your responsibility.
  3. Your truth is truth, even if others don’t see it that way.
  4. Boundaries are important in all relationships, including significant others and family.
  5. Your self-worth is not defined by meeting (or not meeting) someone else’s expectations.
    • In other words, be yourself and be unapologetic for it.
  6. It is not proper communication to yell at someone to get their attention and/or make them fix something.
  7. Do not fall for someone guilt-tripping you or being defensive toward you because you expressed yourself. This behavior shows that they do not respect you.
  8. Affirmations work wonders.
  9. Read self-help books that you resonate with. Take your time with them and take your time with yourself.
  10. Progress is progress; even a small step forward is just as valuable as the leaps and strides you take.

I hope this helps someone because it has helped me greatly.
